The Science Behind SleepDoctor

SleepDoctor Throat Spray

The SleepDoctor Throat Spray targets the main cause of snoring: dehydration of the soft tissue at the back of the throat. The formulation lubricates the throat to help reduce the vibrations that cause snoring.

How do the SleepDoctor formulations work?

The formulation contains microspheres. Microspheres are multi-layered and encapsulate the active ingredients in the SleepDoctor formula. These ‘onion-like’ structures provide a controlled, time-release effect and are clinically proven to be effective for up to 8 hours.

THROAT SPRAY

The Throat Spray formulation:

  • Contains tricalcium citrate. This stimulates the body’s natural production of fluid/mucous. This means that hydration increases within the mucosal tissue at the back of the throat.
  • Is anti-inflammatory. This speeds the repair of soft tissue in the throat damaged by vibration through snoring.
  • Has thermo-gel properties. The formulation leaves the bottle in a fine spray, and turns to a gel when it’s warmed by contact with the mucosal tissue in the throat. The gel then hydrates and lubricates the soft tissue.

This image shows SleepDoctor Throat Spray at room temperature. At 20-22°C, no clear regions of gelation (“gels”) have formed.

At 25-30°C, the thermo-gel network starts to develop.

As the Throat Spray reaches body temperature, regions of gelation (“gels”) have formed.
